METHOD OF MICROCRYSTALLINE CELLULOSE PRODUCING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2141484 C1

FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of production of microcrystalline modified cellulose. Method involves hydrolysis of cellulose-containing raw (wood, cotton viscose cellulose, waste of textile production, cotton wool) that is carried out in reactor in an aqueous solution of 5% nitric acid at continuous stirring at 90-98 C for 1.0-1.5 h followed by washing out the hydrolysis mass up to neutral reaction, squeezing out, rubbing through to obtain cellulose crumb. The latter is dried in vacuum drier made as coil pipe with jacket at 35-105 C for 5 min depending on the aim and changing regimens of hydrolysis and derying. It is possible to obtain the end product of the corresponding indices and depending on the aim of using. Microcrystalline modified cellulose can be used in pharmaceutical, food industry and also for production of glues, dyes, lacs, perfume goods, for electrode coating, as plastics filling agents and as the parent raw for production of cellulose derivatives. Method provides the regulation of properties of the end product depending on its aim of using. EFFECT: safety process, improved quality indices of the end product, decreased cost. 3 tbl
