FIELD: protection of moving body and construction members upon which body impinges against damage in different branches of machine engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for absorbing energy of moving body includes sleeve with cylindrical opening and cylindrical rod fit with interference in cylindrical opening of sleeve along part of its height. Part of sleeve height joined with cylindrical rod is equal at least to half-diameter of said rod. Cylindrical rod has two steps; rod diameter along part joined with sleeve is less than diameter of remaining portion of rod. Diameter values of both portions of rod differ one from another by 10-15 micrometers. EFFECT: enhanced energy absorbing capacity of apparatus without its sharp increase at time moment of starting rod motion. 3 cl, 3 dwg
