METHOD FOR PREDICTING COURSE AND OUTCOME OF BACTERIAL PURULENT MENINGITIS IN CHILDREN Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2141668 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves carrying out cerebrospinal fluid sample fractioning after centrifuging by applying G-50 Cefadex gel filtration method with following high- and low molecular mass component pools contents being determined. Their values belonging to the range of 0.3-0.5 g/l, moderate severity disease course with complete recovery is to be predicted. 0.51-1.1 g/l being the case, heavy disease course with insignificant residual consequences is to be predicted. 1.11 g/l being the case, very heavy disease course with marked neurological deficiency in convalescence period is to be predicted. Every pool belonging to the range of 0.18-0.25 g/l, normal state is diagnosed. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of prognosis; enhanced effectiveness of therapy correction; accelerated treatment course. 1 dwg
