FIELD: pressing devices of pressing units employed in equipment such as papermaking machines and calendars. SUBSTANCE: pressing tape has slots with curved bottom and two side walls diverging in upward direction. According to first version, bottom wall is made hemispherical and has diameter approximately equal to half the width of slot opening. Diverging side walls have rounded upper radial edges and divergence angle of 5-15 deg with respect to vertical plane. According to second version, slot bottom wall is made flat and lower corners are radially rounded so as to provide continuous junction between flat bottom and side walls diverging in upward direction. EFFECT: increased efficiency by reduced tendency to closing slots during compression and, as a result, reduced tape cracking and rupture. 8 cl, 4 dwg
