FIELD: instrumentation engineering; installing instruments on space vehicle panels. SUBSTANCE: instruments are installed on thermostatically controlled panels by covering contacting surface of instrument and/or panel with heat-conducting layer made of low-density thermally expanded graphite and pressing instrument to mentioned panel; prior to use, thermally expanded graphite is heated in inert atmosphere to 950-1050 C and evacuated at pressure of 10-2-10-3 mm of mercury. In the course of pre-flight ground procedures instrument can be easily dismounted without injuring seating surfaces thereby ensuring multiple reuse of graphite spacer; surfaces of any size and pattern can be produced using this method.
