FIELD: fire fighting. SUBSTANCE: method involves creating impermeable enclosure of inert gases about and above fire zone. Impermeable enclosure is created by dispersion of inert gases produced by inert gas generators from air by means of air force equipment. Method further involves using standard fire zone calculations and introducing new data concerning burning nature, fire area, volume of fire source and approximate fire characteristics. Such information will be used by firemen for taking measures in accordance with standard calculations and on the basis of obtained data, such as kind of forest (for instance, pine forest), height of trees and fire flame, burning area etc. Burning intensity of pine forest is higher than that of, for instance, larch forest, but the burning source of pine forest releases increased amounts of inert gas, which facilitate in fire suppression themselves, and such fire will suffocate more intensively than fire in any other forest, provided other conditions are more or less equal. EFFECT: increased efficiency in using inert gases supplied both from top and bottom, that is, from top by means of aircraft and from bottom by burning source itself. 2 dwg
