SUBSTANCE: proposed invention relates to fire and environmental safety of farmland, steppe and forest areas, as well as to saving farmland and renewable natural resources, which is forest. Proposed method of detecting and extinguishing farmland, steppe and forest fires with atmospheric nitrogen consists in the fact that to extinguish the fires detected by the patrolling airship, a container membrane nitrogen station is used, which is suspended to the airship bearing body, which is configured to release nitrogen from the ambient air, which under pressure through the lower receiver-cooler-sprayer of the container is directed into the combustion zone, performing phlegmatization, inhibiting and cooling fire centers by replacing air in the combustion zone with nitrogen, thereby suppressing the spread of fire. At the same time the container membrane nitrogen station is supplied from the airship fuel tank, providing continuous supply of nitrogen to the detected fire centers with the required intensity.

EFFECT: disclosed is a method of detecting and extinguishing farmland, steppe and forest fires with atmospheric nitrogen.
