FIELD: production of polymeric stabilized sulfur used as nondiscoloring vulcanizing agent in rubber industry. SUBSTANCE: cyclooctasulfur is polymerized thermally in presence of stabilizer, then, sharply cooled (hardened) at time 20 minus 40 C for 4-6 h. Cooling medium is 35-40% aqueous solution of calcium chloride containing 1.0-1.5% of hydrogen peroxide. Cooling medium-sulfur weight ratio is (8-10):1.
