SUBSTANCE: invention describes novel compounds - 5-(cytosinyl-1)-1,3-oxathiolanes at configuration cis (2R, 5S or 2S, 5R) of the general formula: where R means pyridylcarbonyl radical, 1,4-dihydro- -pyridylcarbonyl, quinolinylcarbonyl or 1,4-dihydroquinolinyl-carbonyl possibly substituted with alkyl with 1-10 carbon atoms or trifluoromethylphenylamino-radical and hydroxymethyl group at position 2 is at the cis-position with respect to the plane determined by positions 2 and 5. Compounds of the general formula (I) are an active components of pharmaceutical compositions showing, for example, of an antiviral effect. Invention describes also a method of their synthesis and a pharmaceutical composition based on the above indicated compounds.
