FIELD: chemistry of polymers. SUBSTANCE: described are new metallocene compounds of general formula I: wherein both types of indenyl ligands have different substituents. Metallocene compounds are useful as catalyst component for polymerization of olefins. Also described is method of preparing olefin polymer by polymerization in the presence of catalyst which comprises at least one of claimed metallocenes as transition metal compound, and at least one cocatalyst.
