SUBSTANCE: device 10 has mean power unit 18, which measures and detects average power of voice signal, band equalizer 16 for attenuation of given piece of voice signal and generation of equalized input signal. Respective method involves usage of average power of input signal for calculation of scaling coefficient by means of amplification/attenuation conversion table 28. Voice signal amplifier 10 also has output scale converter 30, which is connected to output 14. Said output scale converter provides multiplication of voice signal after equalizer by scaling coefficient and transmits scaled signal to output 14. In addition device 10 has comparator 20 for comparison of power of low and high frequencies for detection of staged amplification, and detector 22 for detection of data transmission within voice band. This detection leads to switching voice signal amplifier 10 off. EFFECT: elimination of background noise in silent periods, elimination of amplification of high-level voice signals, detection of data transmission within voice signal band without additional external detector. 9 cl, 8 dwg
