FIELD: production of fresh water in regions with lack of natural sources of fresh potable water. SUBSTANCE: the device has a pump-compressor for pumping in air from the environment into a coil heat exchanger cooled by ambient air, refrigerating chamber with a gas turbine located inside it and connected to an AC generator, and a settling chamber connected to the refrigerating chamber through a pipe connection. Compressed air from the coil heat exchanger through a nozzle is fed to the blades of the gas turbine, which does mechanical work due to the internal heat gas energy; as a result, the air temperature drop by several tens of degrees. Water vapor contained in air gets condensed in the form of small crystals of ice, which fall out in the lower part of the settling tank and after accumulation periodically get melted down by electric heaters. The obtained water through a cock is released outside. The power produced by the electric generator is fed to the power mains and, thus, the greater part of electric power consumed by the pump- compressor for air compression returns to the power mains.
