FIELD: removal of solid particles from air by means of electrostatic precipitation. SUBSTANCE: electrostatic precipitator has a great number of spaced apart parallel electrodes collecting dust or particles, and at least one row of spaced apart parallel discharge electrodes, where each row of discharge electrodes is positioned between a pair of adjacent rows of dust collecting electrodes. Each row of dust collecting electrodes and each rod of discharge electrodes are arranged in such a manner that the face sides of dust collecting electrodes and discharge electrodes are found parallel to each other and parallel to the direction of gas flow subject to cleaning. The gap between the dust collecting electrodes in the rows of dust collecting electrodes and the gap between the discharge electrodes in the rows of discharge electrodes are made successively converging from the rows located above the flow to the rows located below the flow in the electrostatic precipitator. The gap between the adjacent rows of dust collecting and discharge electrodes from the side of the electrostatic precipitator located above the flow to the side of the electrostatic precipitator is made successively converging. EFFECT: easy assembling and effective in operation.
