FIELD: methods for mounting and securing thin-wall tubular blanks at working them in lathes and turntable machine tools. SUBSTANCE: method for mounting unstable-shape thin-wall tubular blanks comprises steps of holding blanks in three-cam chuck with double-side compression of wall; providing wall compression along the whole arc of cam contact due to placing free ring with relatively thin wall and necessary height for fastening blank. End surface of ring serves as shaping tool at process of rotary pressing down. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of blank mounting even at the most small thickness of blank wall. 1 cl, 2 dwg
