FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly, production of ammonium nitrate with magnesian additive. SUBSTANCE: method comprises addition to ammonium nitrate of melt of magnesian additive resulting from decomposition of magnesium-containing stock with nitric acid, neutralization of the resulting mixture, evaporation and granulation. Magnesian additive is treated with agent comprising phosphoric acid and/or salt thereof to P2O5/Fe weight ratio of 1.6-3.5 in magnesian additive solution. Agent is solution after recovery of calcium nitric acid extract of natural phosphates. Method makes it possible to increase strength of ammonium nitrate granulates by 10-18% and to use magnesium nitrate solutions having higher content of admixtures, more particularly, iron, and to retain quality of the final product. EFFECT: more efficient preparation method. 3 cl, 6 ex, 2 tbl
