PACKER FOR CLOSING INTERNAL SPACE IN PIPE STRING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: oil and gas production industry. SUBSTANCE: packer is used in operation and repair of oil and gas wells. Packer has body with central passage, upper stop and lower stop, and sealing member. Packer body has thickened bell-shaped part and thin-wall bell-shaped part. Thin-wall bell-shaped part creates space with external wall of body. Upper and lower stops are rigidly connected with corresponding parts of sealing member and with packer body. Upper stop has holes which communicate space with external space of device. Maximal external diameter of thin-wall bell-shaped part in its widening is by 1-3% larger than internal diameter of pipe string. Aforesaid embodiment of packer broadens technological potentialities, enhances operability and is of simpler design. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 7 dwg
