FIELD: fire-fighting equipment, applicable in industrial and civil objects with enhanced fire risk for separation of room into fire-proof compartments, their protection against penetration of fire and subsequent localization of the nucleation site for ignition, as well as for enhancement of fire-resistance limits of fire-proof barriers such as partitions, walls, doors, glazed sections, curtains of openings, tunnels, etc. SUBSTANCE: flexible fire-resistant and heat- resistant material and protective screen based on it comprises bearing fire-resistant and heat-resistant gauze layers and threads based on basalt fibre, coating of bulging substance, heat-reflecting layer. The base threads are interweaved with the weft threads in the bearing fire-resistant layers and oriented in the direction of material disclosure. The protective screen is furnished with a metal rod secured on its end. Material of the protective screen may be spiralled into a roll or pleated with formation of folds.
