FIELD: optical instruments. SUBSTANCE: device has element, which carries diffraction pattern and is connected to power supply. Movement of said element results in alteration of wavelength of wave which is diffracted at given angle. Element may either pass or reflect diffracted wave. Element either has bimorph piezoelectric cell or is mounted for rotation upon excitation of coils which are located on its ends and are connected to two magnets. Matrix may be designed from said elements. Display may have external transparent rigid member, discrete lens member and rigid opaque attachment with window which is optical matched to discrete lens member and said element with diffraction pattern. EFFECT: simplified design, modular implementation, increased sight angle, possibility to generate all colors on separate pixels. 72 cl, 22 dwg
