FIELD: measurement technology, determination of density of liquids by ultrasonic methods. SUBSTANCE: system determining density of liquid incorporates voltage-controlled variable-frequency generator with controlling input, ultrasonic resonance chamber fitted with electroacoustic radiating converter which input is connected to output of generator and to electroacoustic receiving converter opposite to it, space accommodating sample of liquid located between converters. Apart from them system has phase synchronization circuit placed between output of receiving converter and controlling input of generator, device responding to output signal of receiving converter, device connected to phase synchronization circuit to control and change phase of signal fed to radiating converter relative to output signal of receiving converter. System includes controlling device connected to phase synchronization circuit for input of controlling voltage into it while generator is tuned to any required frequency from great number of own frequencies of resonance chamber and computer calculating density. Given method of determination of density of liquid is based on investigation of resonance behavior of sample of liquid in ultrasonic resonance chamber. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of density of liquid, automatic measurement of absolute value of density of liquid by ultrasonic resonance method. 19 cl, 9 dwg
