METHOD FOR TESTING OF WOOD OF GROWING TREES Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: wood-working industry and forestry. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in the fact that after the cores are taken before the study of the wood properties the geometric and dimensional parameters of each core are measured. Corrections to the values of the examined wood properties concerning the angles of inclination of the core to the radius of tree section in the longitudinal-radial and radial-tangential planes of wood anisotropy are determined. The width of the annual layers, the width of the layers of late wood and early wood, wood density and ultrasound velocity along the core are taken as examined and specified wood properties; after the quantitative measurement of the values of these properties they are recalculated with due account made for corrections. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of testing of wood of growing trees by taking into account the corrections for the influence of core parameters on wood properties. 3 cl, 4 dwg
