FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: method involves taking core over the whole diameter of trunk section along geodetic north-south axis; performing economic evaluation of commercial use of wood on the basis of recounted values of wood properties at north side of core parts, with corrected angle of inclination of core to sectional diameter of tree being taken into account; testing south side of core parts and performing ecological evaluation of place of growing tree under test; performing ecological and economic evaluation of tree and tree growing site. For performing tests, trees are visually evaluated and low-quality and high- quality trees are chosen for tests.
