FIELD: astronomy, geophysics. SUBSTANCE: method consists in injection of system of high-speed non-crossing jets of vapors of plasma-forming substance which atomic weight is close to molecular weight of air into ionosphere. Parameters of jets satisfy relationships: Eo/mo ≳ 80 kj/g, mo ≤ 10l3a

•ρa, where Eo, mo are energy and mass of jet; ρa is average free path of molecule of air, ρa is air density. Gear for implementation of method incorporates explosive charges and means for their initiation. Each explosive charge has central shaped recess of cylindrical form lined with plasma-forming substance. Recess is filled with thin-walled tubes made of same plasma-forming substance but having high-porous structure. Average density of plasma-forming substance in recess satisfy relation ρoo ≲ 2/Q, where ρa is density of plasma-forming substance, g/cu.cm; Q is evaporation temperature of plasma-forming substance, kj/g.
