FIELD: electrothermics; repairs of oil and gas lines and storage tanks without emptying the latter from fire- and explosion-hazard materials. SUBSTANCE: heating unit is, essentially, resonance-tuned circuit set up of inductance coil and storage capacitor. Unit has U-shaped magnetic core mounting relatively perpendicular heating surfaces which may carry on their ends removable pole shoes in the form of flexible heat-resistant flasks filled with dielectric magnetic powder in case curvilinear metal surfaces are heated. U-shaped magnetic core mounts sectionalized multilayer bifilar-wound inductance coil. Unit is connected to high-frequency automatic power converter by means of cable.
