BAMBOO-WORKING METHOD Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: wood-working industry, applicable in bamboo working and manufacture of products from it with employment of bent members. SUBSTANCE: bamboo at the age within 1 to 3 years is selected. It is dried in natural conditions to a water content of 8 to 30%. Dried bamboo is cut into blanks of the necessary dimensions. Blank internal partitions are drilled over the entire length for filling-up of sand and outlet of vapors at heating and bending. The diameter of the holes should be within 5 to 8 mm. After drilling the blanks are heated by local flame over the entire length for giving the necessary color. At the same time, in the process of toning, bamboo may be smoothed down. After toning the blanks are cooled down in natural conditions and filled up with dry, heat-treated river sand. Then, local heating is conducted with the use of local flame. In the point of heating at a temperature of 160 to 170 C bamboo blanks are bent to a preset shape with employment of templets, gauges. The cambered blanks are fixed, cooled down either in water, or in natural conditions. EFFECT: creation of an easy, convenient, ecologically pure method of bamboo working, proving for production of bent members of products, reduced process and simplified realization. 4 cl, 1 ex
