FIELD: wood treatment; may be used in quality treatment of raw round timber or rectangular timber of various wood species of considerable thickness. SUBSTANCE: method includes impregnation with saturated solution of carbamide at room temperature up to absorption of at least 20% of carbamide (calculated on bone-dried wood); holding in the air under conditions of closed room for at least 24-72 h; two-stage drying to residual moisture content of not in excess of 20%. Maximum temperature of final heat treatment does bot exceed the temperature of lignin softening of each wood species. Increase of heat treatment duration up to 7 h results in obtaining of needed color and manifestation of wood texture and stepwise carrying out of heat treatment allows obtaining of needed density of blank. Method is distinguished by low power consumption, ecological cleanness and its realization needs no special expensive equipment. EFFECT: prevention of cracking or warping and bowing of timber due to removal of internal stresses arising in timber working and treatment, higher moisture resistance and mechanical strength. 3 cl
