FIELD: oil industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed surface drive of submersible screw pump has engine, reduction gear with inlet and outlet shafts, torque mechanical transmission and brake. Reduction gear is made with shafts arranged vertically. Engine is arranged on side surface of reduction gear housing for displacement along housing. Torque mechanical transmission is made in form of V-belt drive. Brake is made in form of oil-filled housing with eccentrically fitted-in shaft on which impeller with spring-loaded plates is installed for rotation. Throttling holes are made in housing cover. Brake shaft is rigidly coupled with inlet shaft of reduction gear. V-belt tensions system consists of inserts installed in slots on side surface of reduction gear for shifting by screws installed on end face of side surface of reduction gear. Plate is installed between inserts and screws. Brake housing is made in form of cover of lower bearing of reduction gear inlet shaft. Slots with fitted-in spring-loaded rollers are made in brake shaft. EFFECT: enhanced reliability and unfailingness of drive, simplified design. 5 cl, 2 dwg
