FIELD: microbiological methods. SUBSTANCE: strain is cultured on Columbia agar medium with 2.5% of donor blood added, after which chocolate agar is prepared. Medium is cooled to 50 C and 2.5% of hemolyzed donor blood is added. When chocolate agar is being prepared, hemin and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide are being extracted from blood red cells, while hemolyzed blood further enriches nutrient medium with growth factors essential for Helicobacter pilori. When biopsy materials from gastric and duodenal mucous tissues are sown on modified nutrient medium, colonies of Helicobacter pilori are harvested on the second culturing day and maximum growth is observed on the third day under microaerophilic conditions at 37 C. EFFECT: accelerated culturing process on less expensive medium.
