FIELD: storage battery manufacture. SUBSTANCE: according to invention, battery priming includes vacuum impregnation of plates with electrolyte up to full level and evacuation of excess electrolyte by evaporating water from it. Prior to vacuum impregnation with electrolyte and next priming operations battery is heated to 60-85 C. Electrolyte water is evaporated from battery preheated to 70-85 C to chamber wherein pressure equal to steam pressure above final-concentration electrolyte is maintained. Amount of evaporated water is determined by condensing it and measuring its volume. EFFECT: improved battery filling with electrolyte. 3 cl, 1 dwg
