SUBSTANCE: method for depositing reinforcing, protective, and decorative coatings on surfaces to obtain various functional properties and color tints includes electric-arc spraying of cathode target and deposition of stream obtained onto surface in reactive gas atmosphere; reactive gas is pre-ionized in plasma generator basing on non-self-maintained arc discharge with hot cathode at pressure of 0.01 to 5 Pa and discharge current of 10 to 300 A.
