FIELD: textile industry. SUBSTANCE: loom has rapier installed for rectilinear reciprocation in warp shed and guide located parallel to direction of rapier motion and selvedge formation mechanism with latch needle located square to direction of rapier motion. Selvedge formation mechanism has pusher parallel and connected to it. Mounted in guide is carriage connected with rapier. Carriage has slides of forward and backward motion of pusher located along direction of carriage motion. Slides are located opposite to each other. Section for needle standing in working position of slide of backward motion overlaps one part of section for moving the needle to working position of forward motion slide in their projection.
