FIELD: textile engineering. SUBSTANCE: gap forming device has pairs of levers arranged inside housing for out-of-phase motion through machine width in offset relation of each pair of levers with respect to adjacent pair of levers, pairs of hooks arranged in groups inside open gaps of guides fixed on housing for engagement with levers and joined through pulley blocks to spring-loaded heddle carriers, and two-terminal electromagnets for controlling heddle carriers position, with number of two-terminal electromagnets being equal to that of heddle carriers. Gap forming device is further equipped with carrier frames adapted for positioning and fixing of electromagnets, with number of frames being equal to that hooks. Guides for pairs of hooks are arranged between pairs of levers. Each frame is arranged above respective guides and fixed on housing. Frame has two cheeks which embrace guides.
