FIELD: antenna engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves separate shaping of transceiving pattern for receiving and for radiating radio waves, main directivity pattern being used for transmission and sum or difference patterns of bases and two sides with their axes shifted either side from main one by approximately half the main pattern width in zero level, for reception. In addition to slotted-waveguide antenna commonly used for radars, device implementing this method has two newly introduced receiving antennas connected to microwave channel of main antenna through additional receiving channels using microwave mixer that incorporate remote-control microwave matching units for varying phases of signals being mixed and microwave transmit-receive switches that function to prevent arrival of energy generated by radar transmitted during its emission by radar antenna at additional receiving channels. EFFECT: reduced horizontal dimensions of antenna. 2 cl, 5 dwg, 2 tbl
