FIELD: rolled stock production, namely profiling rolls of mills for cold and hot rolling of sheet material. SUBSTANCE: roll assembly of rolling stand of sheet rolling mill includes two (upper and lower) sets of rolls. Each set of rolls has one rolling roll with means for its axial motion and, possibly, one or more backup rolls. Contours of barrels of analogous rolls are defined by fifth-order polynom y(x) = a5x5+a4x4+a3x3+a2x2+a1x. Barrels of analogous rolls of different set are turned one relative to another by 180 degrees. In order to decrease metal removal from rolls at regrinding them, value of coefficient a1 of polynom defining roll barrel contour is determined by expression: a1= -0,25L2 (0,25a5L2+a3), where x - coordinate along roll axis with zero in center of barrel, L - length of barrel.
