FIELD: constructions of screwdown mechanisms of stands of mills for hot and cold rolling of thin sheets. SUBSTANCE: screwdown mechanism is designed for stand of thin-sheet rolling mill including screw-nut pair, foot with step bearing, rolling effort pickup, hydraulic assembly "plunger-cylinder". Contact surface of foot with step bearing is flat. Between step bearing and plunger, thrust rolling bearing is mounted instead of load cell. Hydraulic system "cylinder-plunger" includes in addition oil pressure pickups. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency, useful life period of screwdown mechanism, improved accuracy of measuring rolling effort without use of load cell due to lowered wear of cylinder, plunger, sealing units, foot, step bearing. 5 dwg
