FIELD: operational control over damage to tuberous plants and root-crops. SUBSTANCE: process involves selection of certain number of tuberous plants and root-crops, their submersion into liquid and calculation of damage factor. In this case quantity of selected sample is found by volume of liquid forced out of measurement bottle which is sealed later and pressure in it is raised. The rest of liquid is kept under this pressure in the course of relaxation time and damage factor is calculated by drop of level of liquid from initial value by formula 100%, where ΔV = SΔl is reduced volume of sample of tuberous plants and root-crops; Δl - is decreased level of liquid; S = πR2 is cross-section area of measurement bottle; R is radius of measurement bottle; k is factor taking into account effect of species and quality features of tuberous plants and root-crops; V is volume of sample of tuberous plants and root-crops. Pressure in measurement bottle amounts to 03-0.4 MPa and relaxation time is 10-30 s. EFFECT: decreased time of detection of damage and degree of damage to tuberous plants and root-crops for subsequent adjustment of machines for their harvesting and treatment. 2 dwg
