SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in ACS of high-voltage rectifiers incorporated with power supply systems. To provide optimum operation of electric filter, it is necessary to maintain the highest possible voltage in both sparkless time interval and during spark and arc breakdowns of settling space. To this end, it is necessary to recover quickly the voltage at electric filter at the level a bit lower than that whereat breakdown occurred. For this, maximum and minimum voltages are measured continuously between spark breakdowns to calculate ripple ratio by the formula After spark period, control system generates speedup angle of thyristor gate for control of power thyristors during recovery of voltage at electric filter.
