FIELD: warning against catastrophic sequences of earthquakes. SUBSTANCE: the method consists in reception and processing of intelligence signals arriving from zones of underground strains. Electromagnetic wave produced by strain processes in the focus of earthquake, preferably low-frequency one that is received in the low-conducting layer of the Earth's crust, preferably built of basalts, is used as intelligence signal. To this end, use is made of radio wave receiving antennas that are placed in holes drilled from the surface to the low-conducting layer of the Earth's crust and mounted isolately from the earth mass located above the low-conducting layer of the Earth's crust; intelligence signals are picked up simultaneously at least in three points. Besides, at least part of the holes drilled from the surface to the low-conducting layer of the Earth's crust is located on the bottom of deep-sea troughs. Besides, broadband radio wave antennas are used as receiving antennas of electromagnetic wave. EFFECT: enhanced operativeness of forecast of earthquakes. 3 cl, 5 dwg
