FIELD: short-term forecasting of earthquakes and forewarning about catastrophic after-effects of this natural phenomenon. SUBSTANCE: earth mass, preferably in seismorisky areas, is probed with electromagnetic waves mainly not below medium-wave range. Reflected or scattered field from probing signal is used as forerunner of earthquake. Radiator of probing signal is located under ground. Wide- band antennas of radio waves worked deeper into layers of the Earth's crust with decreased conduction are employed in the capacity of receiving antennas of electromagnetic wave.
