FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: copper-based alloy comprises, wt.%: copper 57.0-60.0; manganese, 3.1-4.0; silicon, 0.6-1.5; aluminium, 0.5-1.5 and the zinc balance. Optional components of alloy include nickel in amount of less than 0.6 wt.%, iron in amount of less than 0.7 wt.% and lead in amount of less than 0.3 wt.%.
