DEVICE FOR RECONDITIONING SURFACES OF PARTS Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

FIELD: metal working technology. SUBSTANCE: device may be used in reconditioning and hardening of cam surfaces of camshafts of internal combustion engines. The device has two faceplates, one of which accommodates ate least one block module, while the other, has at least one copying mechanism. Block module includes three kinematically interconnected mechanisms; loading, radial turning and total axial feed, made in the form of hydraulic cylinders. Hydraulic cylinders of mechanisms of loading and radial turning are hydraulically communicated with copying mechanism and regulator of deformation working rate. To recondition cams special tool is used which is connected with loading mechanism and consisting of deforming indenter in the form of diamond head, nozzle for supply of powder additive to under indenter and metallic end piece for heating of contact zone. Total motion of tool imparted to it by three hydraulic cylinders and copying mechanism ensure reconditioning of cam size with preset accuracy and roughness of worked surface at uniform rate of working in each point of cam profile with simultaneous preservation of constant direction of normal force in contact zone of deformation.
