FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of producing liquid iron or liquid steel semiproducts from material containing iron oxide in the form of particles includes preliminary reduction of the material in fluidized bed with the help of reducing gas in at least one stage of preliminary reduction and then reduction to sponge iron at the stage of final reduction. Produced sponge iron is melted in melting-gasifying zone by supply of carriers of carbon and oxygen gas in which simultaneously produced is reducing gas containing CO and H2 which is supplied to the stage of final reduction where it is converted, withdrawn and supplied to at least one stage of preliminary reduction. At this stage, gas is subjected to conversion, withdrawal and washing and in this end, withdrawn as gas ready for use. In this case, at least one part of reacted gas is cleaned from CO2, heated and used in the capacity of recirculating reducing gas for reduction of material containing iron oxide. To exclude sticking during reduction, one part of reducing gas flowing from stage of final reduction is withdrawn to stage of preliminary reduction, washed from CO2 and heated and then returned to stage of final reduction. The plant has at least two reactors for preliminary reduction and melting gasifier interconnected by transportation and connecting pipelines. Branched from connecting gas pipeline is pipeline with scrubber, device for cleaning from CO2 and gas heater which is connected with pipeline of reducing gas and melting gasifier. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 14 cl, 2 dwg, 2 tbl
