FIELD: advertising. SUBSTANCE: method involves application of temperature- sensitive identifier to product, its packing or envelope, shaping identifier to initial form. Upon detection of authenticity of product, method involves alteration of shape of identifier and its heating by external heat source in order to ensure visual detection of its source shape. Goal of invention is achieved by making identifier from alloy with effect of shape memory, alteration of its shape under room temperature and adding consumer information about authentication procedure to article. Respective device which implements said method uses identifier, which is made from alloy with effect of shape memory and is designed as set of members with given source shape or their position and provides possibility of multiple alteration of source shape or position in space and recovery upon heating. EFFECT: simplified identification procedure, increased reliability and information capacity of protection, increased range of possibilities for implementation of identifiers. 4 cl, 4 dwg
