FIELD: cigarette industry. SUBSTANCE: apparatus has continuous surface roll mounted for synchronous rotation in constant contact with square knives of cutter head. Paper tape is in continuous contact with roll. Cutting members are disposed circumferentially of cutter head. Each cutting member has base with upper part made in the form of rectangular tray-shaped guide engaged with lower part of support, which is equally spaced and joined to rectangular guide. Three springs of width corresponding to that of rectangular guide slot are disposed between base and support. Spring upper platform is inserted into lower crosswise support slot, and spring lower platforms rest upon tray-shaped bottom of rectangular base guide. Upper part of support is provided with depression for receiving rectangular knife. When sharpened portion of square knife projects into plane extending through centers of roll and cutter head, paper strip is cut off. EFFECT: increased efficiency, enhanced reliability in operation and improved maintainability. 2 dwg
