FIELD: varnish-and-paint industry. SUBSTANCE: one forms dispersion of uncoated titanium dioxide particles at such a pH value as to impart surface charge to particles. Dispersion is then concentrated through transverse-flow filtration to 50% titanium dioxide content. Concentrated dispersion is mixed with dispersion of chemically individual particles having unlike surface charge under conditions assuring that surface charge of each material does not reverse. Presence of unlike surface charges result in association of titanium dioxide particles with chemically individual particles in pigmented composite obtained. Composite finds use when preparing paints with elevated opacity and with the same amounts of titanium dioxide as in ordinary paints. EFFECT: increased stability. 23 cl, 6 tbl, 2 ex
