FIELD: measuring equipment, applicable for investigation of parameters of short-period internal waves in layers with varying density gradient at observations from board the drifting ship. SUBSTANCE: method consists in descent and lifting of registering instruments from board the ship with a neutral buoyancy float. Binding of the registering instrument and float impart neutral buoyancy to them. The binding is connected to the ship by means of a drifting system. The system consists of a supporting line and an intermediate load. The supporting line and intermediate load have a neutral period in the dynamic flow, which is considerably higher (by 5 to 10 times) than the ship rolling period. EFFECT: provision of measurement of hydrological parameters from board the drifting ship in the layers with varying density gradient with the exception of errors arising due to the ship rolling and pitching caused by wind disturbance and ripples. 3 dwg
