DIGITAL RADIO DIRECTION FINDER Russian patent published in 2000 - IPC

Abstract RU 2149419 C1

FIELD: radio engineering, radio navigation, radio communication systems with spatial processing of radio signals. SUBSTANCE: invention is aimed at increased accuracy of direction finding with deviation of parameters of mixture of interfering signals and noise from model ones and identification of obtained angles of arrival with interfering signals. Additional objective of second version of direction finder is enhanced accuracy of direction finding of correlated signals thanks to time averaging of cumulative matrixes of angles of elevation. In agreement with first version of proposed radio direction finder specified aim is achieved by insertion of first and second storage circuits, quadrature converters, delay elements unit of cumulative matrix, unit of phases and discriminator into traditional digital radio direction finder. Antenna unit includes two antennas and azimuthal and two signal outputs of discriminator are corresponding outputs of radio direction finder. Process of generation of information on angles of arrival is altered in proposed radio direction finder. Bearings to two signals with the use of two-element antenna are taken by formation of matrix of such cumulative functions of fourth order whose values correspond to values of proper elements of covariant matrix of linear three-element system. EFFECT: increased accuracy of direction finding. 6 cl, 25 dwg
