FIELD: electrical engineering; DC and AC contactors and relays, etc. SUBSTANCE: contact assembly incorporates provision for reducing cyclic impact loads at point of connection to operating mechanism. To this end, contact assembly that has contact bridge, supporting spring, main clamp with loose binding posts, and jumper that also functions as base to mount contact spring is provided, in addition, with one more clamp arranged around main clamp; additional clamp has posts with ends twice bent inside to support contact spring and to hold it in position. Posts of additional clamp are unidirectional with those of main clamp and bases of both clamps are spaced 90 deg apart so that opening is formed between them for connecting movable contact assembly to connecting member of operating mechanism. Main and additional clamps are placed in insulating shell which is fitted onto main-clamp posts; butt end of main clamp is located on rear surfaces of bent-down ends of additional clamp under contact bridge.
