FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to design of low-voltage equipment and can be used in design of contactors and starters. Electromagnetic switching device has case, core with pull-in coil, armature installed in casing, shock absorbers arranged between casing and surface of armature, units of contact cross-pieces linked to case by common axle, mobile contact units manufactured in the form of contact bridges with contact straps containing silver positioned on contact cross-pieces, block carrying immobile contact units in the form of contact clamps with upper and lower flanges and contact straps on upper flanges containing silver and return springs. Electromagnetic switching device is equipped with arc chute with arc control lattice. Each immobile contact unit is fitted with arc-guiding clamp- shaped element which embraces each contact clamp and is made of two clamps and vertical member with two holes. Plates of arc control lattice are tooth-shaped with teeth of different height. Height of tooth point of each plate diminishes from center of plate towards its edges. Arc-guiding clamp-shaped elements are mounted for direction of arc onto plates of arc control lattice. Technical objective provided by invention consists in design of switching device displaying higher mechanical and switching wear resistance, requiring lesser usage of silver to ensure required service life and wear resistance, lesser usage of structural materials, lesser labor input in manufacture of parts and units thanks to acceleration of drift of arc from contact straps and high adaptability of structures to manufacture which ensures easy access to contact straps of mobile bridge and immobile contacts and coil of device to conduct maintenance during operation.
