FIELD: medicine, in particular, surgical equipment used in traumatology and orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: drill has body, supporting handle, rotation drive handle and chuck. Supporting handle has spherical thrust bearing which rests upon spherical member on body end. Body is made in the form of rod with central through channel and outer spiral thread, which is engageable with rotation drive handle made in the form of slidable coupling. The latter is provided with spring-loaded rollers positioned in obliquely directed openings. During reversal of coupling, rollers are biased lengthwise to compress spring of spherical member. Spherical member is positioned for resting upon spring ring inserted into annular channel extending along coupling ridge. Chuck has inversely conical holder for obturating spoke surface so that when pressure is supplied in working direction, spoke is compressed, and when in reversal direction, spoke is free from any obstacles and may be extended. EFFECT: increased efficiency, convenient handling, intensified operation and enhanced reliability in operation. 6 cl, 2 dwg
