FIELD: methods of application of protective member to base. SUBSTANCE: protective member presents composite coating which consists of at least carrying film and thermally activated adhesive layer for binding with base. Coating additionally consists of optical diffraction structures or pack of layers producing interference effect. Adhesive layer is brought in contact with base and locally heated by supplying energy through coating so that coating adheres to base on heated parts without destruction of diffraction structures or pack of layers. EFFECT: simple reliable method of application of protective member to base or to document with provision of accurate coincidence of coating and base. 13 cl, 10 dwg
